Self-piercing screws feature a lead-thread that is rolled to the very tip of the screw
point and then rapidly develops into a logarithmic helix for easily penetrating sheet metal.
Perfectly molded threads reduce driving torque and strip-out problems, while contrastingly increasing the speed of installation.
Used to “tap” their own mating internal thread when driven into wood and metallic materials.
Does not require a pre-drilled pilot hole in sheet metal under .040" thick.
Extra sharp point to ease starting.
Case hardened so surface after tempering is equal to minimum Rockwell Hardness of C28-38.
Zinc Plated to meet ASTM Specification F1941.
Screws conform to the dimensions of ASME B18.6.3
